Rules & Bylaws

These are the playing rules and bylaws for the 2026 season. Where they are silent, the official rules of baseball apply. Managers are expected to know them; umpires have the last word on the field.

1. Game length

1.1
Nine innings
A regulation game is nine innings, or five if called by weather or darkness.
1.2
Time limit
No new inning starts after two hours and forty-five minutes.
1.3
Run rule
A game ends when one side leads by 15 after five innings or by 10 after seven.

2. Pitching

2.1
Innings limit
A pitcher may throw at most nine innings in a calendar week.
2.2
Once removed
A pitcher removed from the mound may not pitch again in the same game.
2.3
Intentional walk
Signalled by the manager; no pitches are thrown.

3. Equipment

3.1
Bats
Wood, or BBCOR-certified with a length-to-weight drop no greater than three.
3.2
Helmets
Batters and runners wear a helmet with at least one ear flap.

4. Rosters

4.1
Roster size
Up to 25 players per club.
4.2
Deadline
Players must be on the roster by July 1 to play in the postseason.
4.3
Postseason eligibility
A player needs three regular-season appearances.

5. Forfeits and rainouts

5.1
Forfeit
A club without nine players fifteen minutes after the scheduled start forfeits.
5.2
Rainouts
The league office calls rainouts at least two hours before first pitch; the league sets the make-up date.

6. Conduct and protests

6.1
Ejections
An ejected player or manager sits out the club’s next game.
6.2
Protests
Only on a rule interpretation: declared to the umpire before the next pitch, then in writing to the league office within 24 hours.
